Salem Area Young Professionals

A crowd of 80 Salem Area Young Professionals took advantage of the unique opportunity to enjoy a catered meal by gourmet chef j.james at Mission Mill Museum. The evening was full of socializing, networking, and holiday sounds.

Beyond networking, YoungPros had the opportunity to learn from the experiences of dining industry expert Phil DeVito on dinner etiquette. DeVito touched on demystifying table settings, appropriate behavior as a host and a guest and common general misnomers of proper "dining etiquette." "The real goal is to make the other guests at your table feel comfortable," said DeVito.

DeVito came to the event with over 50 years of dining experience. His most famous employment came as maitre d’ of the notorious Salishan Lodge, an Oregon resort at Gleneden Beach. There DeVito won the prestigious Gold Vine Award – the “Oscar” of the wine industry.
