Great Weather for a Great Park

May 24, 2007

Another sold out YoungPros event brought over 60 YoungPros to the Riverfront Park Pavilion in downtown Salem. Marketing consultant Carolyn Gorsuch joined the group to share her insight and experience with "outside the box" strategies she has used throughout her career.

"Don't be afraid to take risks and try creative strategies," said Gorsuch after sharing her stories about getting both Donald Trump and former Chrysler CEO Lee Iacocca to use her greeting cards for their businesses. "Planning is the key to successful marketing."

Gorsuch was also part of the committee who worked tirelessly to construct the Pavilion as part of Salem's Riverfront Park. After much perseverance, Gorsuch helped lead the effort to completion by working to partner with over 100 businesses that supported the project with time, money, and energy. Those contributors are recognized on a plaque which is featured on one of the four Pavilion pillars.

Jolene Hargis with the Keizer Sub Shop on River Road helped feed the YoungPros as part of the outdoor event in May. Jolene (left) is pictured below with new Salem Chamber employee Jessica Chambers (right) and Vice-Chair of Salem YoungPros Leslie Thompson of Ticor Title.

Next month's event is another special treat at Don Pancho Authentic Mexican Foods headquarters. The facility produces over 3 million tortillas every day right here in Salem and has facilities across the country as far east as North Carolina.

For only $10 per person, YoungPros can feast on great mexican food and get a behind the scenes tour that helps explain exactly what makes Don Pancho tick.
