Action Team makes splash
Downtown
More than 50 showed up to clean up litter, pull weeds, and spruce up the look of downtown streetscapes over a period of 2 hours.
"People were honking, buying
us pizzas, and asking questions as they walked by," siad AJ Nash of
Integrity First Financial. "We had over 50 people there and we ended up
picking up more than 30 pounds of litter and 425 pounds of dirt/weeds."
The downtown clean-up effort was coordinated with Willamette University through the Salem YoungPros first action team. "SYP Action_downtown" is the first work group of YoungPros created to help with a specific effort within our community. More action teams are likely to be created as more and more Young Professionals identify areas within the community where they feel they can make a difference.
